Community Life
Your days, your way — with plenty of ways to fill them if you’d like.
Some mornings you’ll want company. A book club meeting, a concert in the common room, a sightseeing trip with neighbors who’ve become friends. Other mornings you’ll want quiet — your coffee, your book, your patio.
Both are completely fine here.
The Woodlands organizes a full calendar of activities every month — not to fill your schedule, but to make sure you always have options when you want them. Join in when it appeals to you. Skip it when it doesn’t. Nobody’s keeping track.
Here’s a taste of what’s on offer:
On-Campus Activities:
- Book club — a new title every month, chosen by residents
- Live musical performances and concerts
- Guest speakers and lectures on topics residents request
- Exercise classes to keep you moving at your own pace
- Arts and crafts — drop in whenever the mood strikes
- Current events discussions — lively, never dull
- Social mixers, games, and movie & trivia nights with popcorn
Out and About:
- Weekly trips to the bank, pharmacy, and grocery store
- Sightseeing excursions around Vermont’s most scenic locations
- Lunch outings to Stowe’s restaurants and surrounding towns
- Trips to Stowe village and Morrisville for shopping and events
Our activities calendar changes every month — planned with resident input and posted here so you can see exactly what’s coming up.

Community life at The Woodlands doesn’t stop at the front door. Stowe village is minutes away — with restaurants, galleries, shops, and year-round events that give you somewhere worth going whenever you feel like it.
From the slopes of Mount Mansfield in winter to maple sugaring season in spring, Stowe is a town that earns its reputation in every season.
Hosting Family? They Can Stay Right Here.
When family comes to visit, they don’t have to drive back to a hotel in Stowe, Montpelier, or Burlington. The Nest is The Woodlands’ dedicated guest space — a self-contained one-bedroom apartment with a queen-size bed, private bathroom, kitchenette, and a comfortable living and dining area. It’s designed for the people you want nearby, without anyone feeling like they’re in the way.
Our
Happy Residents
“We have made many new friends and we are involved in many new activities here. Some days we barely leave our unit and other days we spend time running errands and visiting with friends and family. The scenic tours offered by The Woodlands have been enjoyable and have introduced us to this stunningly beautiful area of Vermont!”
