Staff + Governance
At The Woodlands at Stowe, we are family. Our staff members are committed to your comfort, security, and well-being while respecting your privacy and independence. We are here to ensure you are as active and are engaged as much as you wish.
With the goal to remain active members of the community, the staff at The Woodlands is here to help you make that happen.
The residents and staff make this a special community by caring for and supporting each other, which we believe sets us apart from other independent living communities.
The team at The Woodlands includes:
Ruthie Adams is a native Vermonter that has been part of the hospitality industry for the majority of her career. A lover of food and an accomplished baker, she enjoys cooking and sharing the fruits of her labor with family and friends.
As the newest member of The Woodlands, she is excited to be part of the community and looks forward to welcoming you to this beautiful gem in Stowe.
A single mom with a beautiful college-aged daughter, Ruthie lives in Barre with her cat Maizie and loves popcorn, reading, traveling, and being with her family.
LeeAnna has been part of Copley since 2008, both at the hospital and here at The Woodlands, and is a jack of all trades. She is an invaluable member of the team that you’ll find at the front desk, in the kitchen, and helping out wherever necessary.
In her free time, you can find her walking and hiking with her beloved dogs, Lacie Lee and Wolfgang and collecting Magna. LeeAnna lives a quiet life and prefers to be with her four-legged friends in her home in North Hyde Park.
Office Assistant & Head Housekeeping
Gale has worked as Office Assistant and Head Housekeeping Services at The Woodlands since we opened 25 years ago. Her goal each day is to help each resident in any way she can.
She has lived in Lamoille County her entire life and in her spare time enjoys gardening, outdoor activities, reading and spending time with her three grandchildren.
Ralph has been a part of the Copley Health Systems for over 32 years, 20 at the hospital in environmental services and purchasing and the last 12 here at The Woodlands. His favorite part about his job is interacting with the residents. One thing Ralph is not a fan of… paperwork!
In his spare time, Ralph enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time with his family, and being with his grandchildren.
Tyler is a native of Morrisville and has been part of the maintenance team at Copley Hospital for the last four years. Tyler spent 12 years in the Air Force before returning to Vermont. He and his wife Alexis are the proud parents of two daughters, Hannah, 7, and 4-year-old Isabelle. They love to travel and the family takes trips somewhere warm each spring.
Bill joined the team at The Woodlands in Stowe in September of 2105. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the table and often will research the favorite dishes of the residents. His past experience in the culinary field has taken him to South Carolina, Massachusetts, and back home to Vermont.
In his spare time, you can find Bill in the woods foraging for fiddleheads and ramps in the spring, chanterelles in August, and taking walks with his dog.
A graduate of the Atlantic Culinary Academy, Tom has been part of the team here for over 10 years. His culinary background has led him to a number of establishments in the area, including The Manor, 10 Acres Lodge, and The Stone Grill. He creates incredible breads each night, and you will find him laboring over yummy desserts.
An avid runner, you will often find Tom out running during his breaks or logging miles on the rowing machine.
